Tim Taylor served as an assistant coach at Virginia on and off for nearly two decades, but when he returned with North Carolina on Thursday night he was not exactly sure where to go.

"It's the first time I was on this side and not that side," Taylor said, "And someone said you know it's a smaller visitors locker room, I said honestly I don't even know where it's at, so I'd never been in it until tonight."

The former Wahoo assistant is in his first season on Courtney Banghart's staff at UNC.  Taylor was on the sidelines with the Tar Heels as they beat Virginia 65-47 on Thursday night and received hugs from nearly every player after the game.

"There's a lot of memories and I love those kids and I would do anything for them," Taylor said.

One of the best memories was during his final season in Charlottesville when the Wahoos made their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2010.

"We spent two to three years together going through some fights, some tears, some wins.," Taylor said, "Making that NCAA Tournament, I tell people that was one of the greatest moments that I had watching them get that bid."

The Charlottesville native also formerly coached at both Madison County and Orange County.
