CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Police are looking for a Fluvanna County man after a shooting that killed one person happened Thursday night in Charlottesville.

Officers with the Charlottesville Police Department responded to a reported shooting on South First Street around 9:35 p.m.

According to a news release, the officers found a man with a gunshot wound and began immediate life-saving efforts until paramedics arrived.

Dre’Shawn Rayvon McDonald, a 27-year-old resident of Charlottesville, was taken to the University of Virginia Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Officers, forensic personnel and detectives began the investigation and worked through the night. Warrants were obtained Friday morning for Tajuan Rahmeen Allen, a 22-year-old resident of Fluvanna County.

Allen is wanted for the following:

Allen is described as 5-foot-6, 175 pounds, with black eyes and black hair. Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone who knows where Allen is should call 911 immediately.
