Keswick Vineyards opens mini golf course
ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A nine-hole mini golf course is now open at Keswick Vineyards.
Owner Cindy Schornberg said it's something she has wanted to do for at least six years.
"I always wanted to give something here for our customers to be able to do as they're enjoying a glass of wine and the views we have here," she said.
The course was built on a previously-empty piece of land at the vineyard, and Schornberg says it looks like it has always been there.
The course was put in this month and has been open for about two weeks. All ages are welcome.
It has wine-themed holes, including a wine bottle, a decanter, and a wine key. The holes also include locally-made tables specifically for stemmed wine glasses. At the halfway point on the course, there is a bar for players to refill on beverages like wine and beer.
"Any skill set is welcome, the whole purpose is to enjoy, have fun, spend time together, create a lovely memory with your friends and family members," Schornberg said.
It costs $10 per round of mini golf. Schornberg said she wanted to give people something to do while visiting the winery, whether it be a bachelorette party, grandparents and grandchildren, or a wedding party before a rehearsal dinner.
"Just something to do, versus just sitting here the whole time, just enjoying beverages, get a little physical activity in, have fun, joke around with one another, and just have a good time," she said.
Keswick Vineyards is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The mini golf course is open from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
