RICHMOND, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Flags across Virginia will be flying at half-staff for the rest of the week.

Governor Glenn Youngkin issued an order Tuesday in the wake of the latest mass shooting, which occurred at a private elementary school in Nashville on Monday.

President Joe Biden also issued a proclamation to lower the U.S. flag in honor of the shooting victims.

Under this order, the U.S. and Virginia flags will be lowered over the state Capitol and all local, state and federal buildings and grounds across Virginia through sunset Friday.

Six people, three of whom were children, were killed in the Monday shooting. Police say the woman behind the shooting was killed by officers.
