STAUNTON, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A man from Crozet and one from Palmyra are facing charges connected to solicitation of children.

They are among 16 who were recently arrested by the Staunton Police Department as part of a task force investigating

 online solicitation of minors.

Fifty-seven-year-old Robert Joseph Kendrick of Crozet is facing four counts of online solicitation of a minor under the age of 15 and one count of attempted indecent liberties with a minor.

Additionally, 25-year-old Johnny McCoy of Palmyra has been accused of one count each of online solicitation of a minor under the age of 15 and attempted indecent liberties with a minor.

Other people who have been arrested as part of this investigation reside in Staunton, New Market, Mount Solon, Richmond, Roanoke, Rockingham County, Cumberland, Manassas, Fredericksburg, Waynesboro, and Wirtz in Virginia as well as Del Ray, West Virginia.

Kendrick has a hearing in court on Oct. 26, while McCoy will be in court on Dec. 5.

The Staunton Police Department is part of the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
