ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Students with special needs, as a part of Albemarle County Schools’ “Post High” program, got a chance to learn some skills they may use every day.

ACPS’s learning tech integrator, Alfred Toole, has been working with the students to teach them basic functions with computers or digital devices that they can use for the rest of their lives.

Students practice typing, scrolling, and finding things through the Internet. Toole says it's important for students of all abilities to know how to work on a computer.

“I think using technology is important because it allows them to use some basic skills. Computers are not going away,” Toole said.

Toole says he also has been intertwining other life lessons such as planning and organizational skills in his teaching to help them reach their full potential.
