BRIGHTON, Ma. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Five Virginia pitchers combined for a shutout as the Cavaliers closed their series at Boston College with a 4-0 win on Saturday afternoon.

Joe Savino, who got the start, tossed four scoreless innings and only allowed one hit in his longest outing of the season. The win is the team's first shutout over an ACC opponent since March 2023 when they blanked NC State.

Bobby Whalen drove in two runs and was 2-for-4 at the plate and Casey Saucke drove in the other two runs of the day, going 1-for-2 from the plate.

Virginia continue their road trip on Tuesday when they take on VCU at the Diamond in Richmond at 6:30 p.m.
