CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- It was a longer wait than most anticipated, but Malik Washington finally saw his professional dreams come true when he was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft Saturday. 

Washington, was selected 184th overall, had a breakout season with the Cavaliers in 2023, garnering All-America honors. He was a first team All-ACC selection and one of 10 semifinalists for the Biletnikoff Award. Washington recorded an ACC record 110 receptions and a UVA record 1,426 receiving yards. 

His 110 receptions and school-record 10 100-yard receiving games led all FBS pass catchers.

Washington will join an explosive Dolphins offense that features Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle that finished 11-6 last season.
