David joined the CBS19 Weather Authority team in January 2015 as the weekday evening Meteorologist
David Reese grew up along the Suncoast of Florida where he got to experience daily thunderstorms in the summer and the occasional hurricane. The event that cemented his love for weather was Hurricane Charley in 2004. The incredible power and last-minute change in track captured his mind and filled it with fascination for weather.
To further enhance his fascination and knowledge for weather, David went to Florida State University (Go Noles!) where he earned his degree in meteorology. David comes our way from Columbus, GA where he worked as the Weekday Morning and Weekend Meteorologist. He experienced it all while working there from tropical storms to severe thunderstorms to tornadoes to flash flooding and even ice and snow storms.
When not working the 5, 6, 10 and 11 p.m. newscasts, you can catch him running, working out, or checking out a local restaurant with his wife. He also enjoys attempting to cook, which is something he’s gotten a little better at over the past few years. David is glad to call Central Virginia his home and looks forward to meeting a lot of you while he’s out and about!
