Brianna Hamblin became a reporter for CBS19 in January 2018. She was an intern at the station since summer of 2015, and is excited to officially start her career with us.
Brianna grew up in Stafford, Virginia, and is currently a fourth year at the University of Virginia, double majoring in Media Studies and English. While at UVA she reported for The Cavalier Daily and WUVA News. She was also a founder of the black publication, Orphée Noir, in which she was news writer and editor. She has spent one summer studying abroad in Spain, and another interning at The Charlotte Observer. She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, and is working on starting an NABJ UVA chapter before graduating in May.
When Brianna isn’t out getting a story, she enjoys dancing bachata, spending time with her puppy, working out, and traveling. She is excited to transition from being a UVA student to a member of the Charlottesville community. If you have any story ideas please do not hesitate to contact her.
