Chelsea joined CBS19 in July 2019 as a reporter.
Chelsea King became a reporter for CBS19 in July 2019. She is excited to officially start her career as a reporter with us. She recently relocated to Charlottesville, V.A. and enjoys small town atmosphere with the big city feel. She is currently working to become involved in the community through her sorority which is a public service organization.
Chelsea enjoys hiking, reading, watching movies and theatrical plays and dancing. She has been involved in volunteering with the American Heart Association for several years and hopes to connect with the Charlottesville American Heart Association to continue her volunteerism. While away from work, she enjoys being with her family and experiencing good restaurants.
Chelsea comes to Charlottesville from Roxboro, N.C. where she was a news reporter for the Roxboro Courier-Times covering crime and city/county government. Prior to this position, she was a TV Production Assistant at ABC 11 WTVD in Raleigh/Durham. At WTVD, she had the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of television news and became determined to pursue a career as a TV news reporter. She was placed under the mentorship of one of the reporters on staff, award-winning journalist Tim Pulliam.
She is a native of Roxboro, N.C. She graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, N.C. with a B.S. degree in Journalism and Mass Communication with a concentration in Electronic Media and a minor in Spanish. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the National Association of Black Journalists.
