CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Thousands of book readers from Charlottesville and beyond will travel to the city this weekend for the annual Virginia Festival of the Book.
The five-day festival dedicated to books and conversation runs through Sunday.
There are more than 100 programs and 250 authors attending this year.
Organizers said most programs are free, and there is something for every type of reader, from picture books to poetry.
Director Jane Kulow said it is the 25th anniversary year, but not much has changed.
"One of the things I find amazing is how much things have remained the same from that very first plan. We are a community-based event, we have hundreds of community partners, and we program in venues all around town," Kulow said.
Upwards of 20,000 visitors are expected to come out for the festival.
