New software jobs coming to Central Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- There's some good employment news as more jobs are coming to the Charlottesville area.

ChartIQ in downtown Charlottesville just announced it raised $17 million in new funding.

The seven-year-old financial tech company delivers software to the financial world.

You might see its work in the graphics used by financial information companies like cable business news networks.

ChartIQ provides software to 300 financial services companies around the world and CEO Dan Schleifer says they need you.

"Currently we employ about 50 people, 40 which are in Charlottesville or from the Central Virginia region, we pull people from Richmond, Staunton, Harrisonburg, and Lynchburg, and we are going to be adding 30 to 40 new positions here in Central Virginia this year," he said.

Schleifer also says the software company is looking for software developers, graphic designers, marketing, sales, and office administrators.

The global company is also expanding, it has offices in New York and London and will soon open an office in Hong Kong.
