CHARLOTTESVILLE,Va. (NEWSPLEX) -- March Madness is upon us.
Monday morning, hundreds of basketball fans were busy penciling in their brackets at the fourth annual Bracket Breakfast.
They gathered at the Omni Hotel in Charlottesville to hear tournament stories and get the inside scoops on the Final Four.
A panel of bracketologists, including some of the University of Virginia's all-time great players, and this year local author John Grisham, helped the crowd fill out brackets and raffle off prizes.
Ticket sales benefit Piedmont CASA, a local organization that trains volunteers to support abused and neglected children in the court system.
"When I was young, I had a lot of people help me as a young person and as I've gotten older, what an opportunity for me to try to do something to help other young people," said breakfast director Jim Miller. "That's what Piedmont CASA does."
Miller is a former UVA basketball player who made it all the way to the Final Four in the 80s.
