Residents shop at Martin Hardware for last-minute snow supplies

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Residents in the city made a last-minute stop to shop at Martin Hardware on Preston Avenue on Saturday morning to prepare for the snowstorm later this weekend.

The store was stocked with shovels, sleds, ice melt, and heaters for people to buy and prepare for the winter weather.

Chris Davis, assistant manager at Martin Hardware, said the store always stocks up on supplies before the weather hits so it can prepare the community.

"We usually will have sleds out or shovels a week ahead of time before they're calling stuff," said Davis. "We're always at the ready before it actually arrives just to get people in the mindset of getting the stuff before it actually shows up."

The store will be closed on Sunday.

It'll reopen Monday at 7:30 a.m.
