GREENE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- An elderly woman from Stanardsville was killed in a car crash on Route 33 in Greene County around 10:05 a.m. Tuesday.

Virginia state police say Eloise Giles was driving a Honda Fit that struck a pickup truck. Giles later died at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was 97 years old.

Police say the driver of the truck, 87-year-old James Raines, was driving across Route 33 from Greencroft Boulevard, and Giles was unable to avoid hitting the truck.
