ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Bea LaPisto-Kirtley earned the Democratic nomination for the Rivanna District seat on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors.

Her main priorities are affordable housing, improving transportation in the county and providing funding for pre-kindergarten in elementary school.

She excited about the nomination and she is now focused on planning to take office in January.

"I'm going to delve in right away to what I should know," said LaPisto-Kirtley. "I've already spoken with a couple of supervisors. I just want to be prepared. I don't want to let anyone down and I do want to be prepared for this office."

Norman Dill currently occupies the Rivanna District seat. He chose not to run for re-election.

LaPisto-Kirtley is currently running unopposed.
