STAUNTON, Va. (NEWSPLEX) -- Incumbent Delegate Dickie Bell is the Republican nominee for the 20th District in the Virginia House of Delegates.

According to a release from the Republican Legislative District Committee for the district, the deadline has passed for the pre-filing requirement for the nominating convention and only one candidate properly filed.

Accordingly, the convention has been canceled, and Bell will be certified as the Republican nominee.

The 20th District covers parts of Augusta, Highland and Nelson counties as well as the cities of Staunton and Waynesboro.

As of right now, Will Hammer is also running for the seat as a Libertarian. He unsuccessfully ran for the House of Delegates in 2015 and also for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2014.

No Democrats have filed to run.

The general election, which includes all 100 seats in the House of Delegates, will take place Nov. 7.
