CAT to detour free trolley, says all routes could see major delays

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- With Final Exercises taking place at the University of Virginia this weekend, the Charlottesville Area Transit says all of its routes will be impacted.

The free trolley will be running on a detour for the weekend, beginning on Friday.

It will not take McCormick Road between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Friday, all day Saturday, and between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday.

However, the trolley will stop at all of the bus stops along Wmmet Street to West Main Street during the detour.

While no other routes will be detoured, CAT says every route will likely experience significant delays at times.

So riders should plan for longer than normal rides.
