Car crashes into home on Fifth Street Extended

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A car was heading southbound on Fifth Street Extended
when police say it ran over the median and into a home on the side of the road.

Luckily no one was in the home and the driver was not injured. The driver was able to walk away from the scene.

The owner of the house, Donnie Walker, said he was preparing to sell the house as a rental before the crash. He said he's just thankful nobody got hurt.

"Things like this are life. Life goes on after this," said Walker. "That's just a house and a house can be repaired. I just don't look at this as a terrible thing. Nobody died."

He said he will not press charges as long as the damage is repaired. The Albemarle County Police Department said it is still investigating how exactly the crash happened.
