Cat Video Fest sells out at the Violet Crown

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A movie showcasing videos of cats took over the Violet Crown Theater on the Downtown Mall on Sunday.

Cat Video Fest is a compilation reel of the latest cat videos from the Internet and unique submissions.

Cameron Polson, a floor manager at the Violet Crown, said advanced tickets for the movie sold out.

They had to add four more screenings of the movie to keep up with the demand.

"We're all animal lovers here and I know Charlottesville is an animal-friendly town," said Polson. "We have the SPCA here with us too and we always love to partner with community organizations like that."

A portion of ticket sales will go toward the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA.

Polson hopes they can make Cat Video Fest an annual tradition.
