Davis enters plea to charge in Harris beating

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- One of the men accused in the beating on Deandre Harris in a parking garage on Aug. 12, 2017 has now entered an Alford plea.

Tyler David entered the plea Friday morning, which means while he does not admit guilt, he does understand there is evidence that could convict him at a trial.

This kind of plea has the same effect as a guilty plea.

Davis, who was charged with felony malicious wounding, will be sentenced on Aug. 27.

He is the fourth person to be convicted for the attack on Harris.

At earlier court hearings, Davis' attorneys argued that he hit Harris in self-defense.
