ESPN College GameDay bus in town ahead of Saturday show

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- There are only eight ESPN College GameDay shows each year, and thanks to the #3-ranked University of Virginia ‘Hoos, it's happening here this weekend. However, the GameDay bus is already in town.

State Farm Agent Gary Albert hosted the GameDay bus at his Rio Road office on Thursday. The free event attracted fans of all ages with food, music and the chance to step inside the luxury bus. It has couches and, of course, TVs with ESPN playing.

State Farm sponsors College GameDay, and Albert says he was chosen to represent all 18,000 State Farm agents with the special bus event.

“It's a chance to come together about something positive and fun,” he said. “Look, we got a home team that's contending. Let's have a little party for that.”

During the GameDay show, a UVA student will be picked from the crowd to take a half-court shot in 18 seconds. If they make it, they'll win $18,000. But even if they miss, they'll get $1,800.
