Fans cheer on former UVA women's soccer players who are in the World Cup

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Five former University of Virginia women's soccer players are now playing in the World Cup, and fans cheered them on during a watch party at the Paramount.

Morgan Brian, Becky Sauerbrunn, and Emily Sonnett, who all play for the United States, had a crowd of supporters watching on the big screen.

Team USA beat Thailand 13-0.

Eleven-year-old Addison Taylor plays soccer for SOCA and said she looks up to these women.

"It's fun to see them score and to see where they were and see them all grown up and see them playing now and their future," said Taylor. "They're kind of my models, idols."

The Paramount will be hosting another women's World Cup watch party to cheer on Team USA against Chile on Sunday.
