CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (NEWSPLEX) -- On Friday, a film that focused on the "black girl experience" made its debut at the University of Virginia as part of a conference.
The documentary tackled the complex subject of black girlhood in several ways. The goal was to understand what holds girls of color back while developing and supporting programs to help them thrive.
Girls from sixth to 12th grade got the chance to interview each other and several local black women.
