CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A man accused of firing a gun on the Downtown Mall this past weekend made his first appearance in court on Monday.

Tayveyon Brown is facing charges of attempted malicious wounding and shooting into an occupied building.

He will be back in court on Sept. 5.

The Charlottesville Police Department says officers found a bullet hole in the window of Commonwealth Skybar on Friday, during a time when the restaurant was open.

No one inside was injured.

Police say Brown ran away from the scene but he was found Saturday morning at his home with a gun, and he was arrested.
