ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Rivanna Solid Waste Authority has announced its Spring 2019 Household Hazardous Waste and Bulky Waste dates.

The commercial HHW will take place April 25. Restrictions apply and businesses must pre-register by April 16.

The residential HHW will take place April 26 and 27 at the Ivy Material Utilization Center.

Residents of Albemarle County, Charlottesville and Scottsville can use these days to get rid of antifreeze, acid, batteries, paint, paint thinner, solvents, motor oil, pesticides and other similar materials.

The center will not accept radioactive or medical waste, explosives or ammunition.

Furniture can be brought out on May 4, while appliances can be taken to the Ivy MUC on May 11. Tires will be collected on May 18.

Nelson County residents can also participate if they receive a voucher from the county government.

Meanwhile, the McIntire Recycling Center is now operating on summer hours, which means it is open Wednesday through Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily.

These hours are expected to remain in effect until Nov. 3, when Daylight Saving Time ends.
