New employers coming to Virginia Career Works job fair

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Virginia Career Works Center is holding it's monthly job fair Wednesday afternoon and there are some new companies looking for employees.

Virginia Career Works said 20 to 25 employers are expected to come out to the job fair, three or four of which are new.

Some of the new employers include the Fashion Square Mall Chick-fil-A, Courtyard Marriott and UVA Transportation Services.

Employers will give informal interviews on the spot.

Tom Gillette, Manager of the Virginia Career Works Charlottesville Center, said one employer that has been seeking new workers in recent months is the U.S. Census.

"They've got some really well-paid jobs. Obviously, the census only occurs every 10 years in the United States and so they've geared up over the last year and so they've been attending some of our events," said Gillette.

Gillette said attendees should come dressed to impress and bring a resume.

The job fair is Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Northside Library.
