Kaine continues to push for health care for all

WASHINGTON (CBS19 NEWS) -- Senator Tim Kaine spoke about the Affordable Care Act on Thursday while continuing to push for health care for all.

He says the Trump administration has been trying to do away with the ACA, also known as Obamacare, since President Donald Trump took office.

"It's very important in Virginia, especially with our recent history with Medicaid expansion, my understanding is 293,000 adults in Virginia, give or take, who didn't have Medicaid before, because of the expansion, and some of those, vast numbers of those maybe have health insurance for the first time in their life," said Kaine. "And I hope the courts will see through, this just transparent political effort by the Trump administration to do anything and everything, to take health care away from so many."

The two most recent attempts by the administration to get rid of the ACA were held up in appellate court.
