CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (NEWSPLEX) -- The Know Good Beer Festival came to the IX Art Park on Saturday.

Hundreds of people showed up. Know Good Beer featured a selection of local, regional and national craft beers. Attendees were able to get unlimited samples of dozens of beers as well as selections from a variety of food trucks and live music. A portion of all proceeds supported Red Shoe Cville.

"We always rely on local brewers and local beer experts that think people should try right now, because there's too many for people to try," said Know Good Beer founder Drew Craft.

"An event like this is really important to an organization like Red Shoe Cville, because it really does bring the community together," said Emily Atken, Co-founder of Red Shoe Cville. "That's essentially what our team does."

Red Shoe Cville is a nonprofit that serves as the philanthropic arm of the Ronald McDonald house in Charlottesville. Know Good Beer organizers say they love to give back to the community.
