ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- For the fourth year, children can participate in summer French and Spanish enrichment camps at James Monroe's Highland.

The camps are put on in partnership with the Speak! Language Center and the Alliance Française Charlottesville.

They are open to children between the ages of four and ten and will take place for three weeks this summer: July 15-19, Aug. 5-9 and Aug. 12-16.

They focus on the French and Spanish languages and help children understand the connection between the languages and Monroe's legacy.

Participating students will get daily language lessons, private tours of the house and garden with scavenger hunts, archaeology lessons, historic crafts, nature walks, and stories.

"With its museum, educational activities, gorgeous outdoor spaces, and President Monroe's international connections, Highland offers our young campers and teachers the best possible environment for a multicultural summer program."

The camps do come with a fee. For a student to attend for one week, it will cost $335. For two weeks, the cost if $650, and for all three, it will cost $925.
