CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (NEWSPLEX) -- The deadline to submit ideas for new names for two Charlottesville parks is coming up on Wednesday.

In April, the Charlottesville City Council voted unanimously to have a contest to rename Lee and Jackson parks.
Suggestions can be submitted online by clicking on the link in the Related Links box.
It will be up to the city Department of Parks and Recreation to pick the top five names.
Working with the Historic Resource Committee, the list of names will be whittled down to three that will be sent to the city council.
This all stems from efforts to move the Robert E. Lee statue from Lee Park.
There is a lawsuit currently working its way through the courts regarding the decision to move the statue.
