Literacy Volunteers to put on Wordplay at the Paramount

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- People who love words, vocabulary, pop culture and more are invited to create a team to play in an annual literary contest.

Literacy Volunteers of Charlottesville/Albemarle is putting on Wordplay at the Paramount Theater on the Downtown Mall.

It's a team-based competition and the audience plays along as teams to compete for bragging rights.

The April 24 event is an annual fundraiser for Literacy Volunteers, which provides one-on-one, confidential tutoring in basic literacy and English as a second language to adults.

Tickets, which cost $20, are currently on sale for this event.
