Local fans love the Hot Wheels Monster Truck Show

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Lots of people remember having the tiny Hot Wheels cars as children, but the Hot Wheels Monster Truck Show, which debuted in Charlottesville over the weekend, brings in the full-size vehicles those little toys modeled.

The Hot Wheels toys were just 1-64th scale models of your favorite cars and trucks.

This is the first year the Hot Wheels Tour has gone on the road and the response to the high-flying, Bigfoot monster truck smashing, fire breathing and car-eating prehistoric Megasaurus robot, was amazing for big kid Deaigo Chambers.

"It was just a big rush and thrill, a whole bunch of adrenaline it's awesome to watch," he said.

But for his little nephew Josiah, it was a lot to take in. He said the fire breathing robot scared him and he was not sure he wants to come back.

It is loud and the show provides hearing protection for those who prefer.

But don't think this is just a guy thing. The Spence family loves it all.

Brian Spence is a big fan.

"Who doesn't love monster trucks," he asked.

Brian also said his wife Erin bought the tickets for the show. She said she loves going to see the big trucks.
