Lou Lou Boutique hosts first 'Partnership Day'

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Lou Lou Boutique in Barracks Road Shopping Center held its first Local Partnership Day with Sugar and Salt Bakery on Saturday.

The event is a part of an initiative the owners of Lou Lou started at all their stores across the East Coast to help promote local artisans and businesses.

Sugar and Salt, a bakery from Fluvanna County, had samples of "cannonballs" for Lou Lou customers to try and packs of them to buy.

Both businesses said they benefit from the partnership.

"It gives us a chance just to get to know people, and once you try a cannonball, you usually love it, so as long as we can give you a sample, that's usually good for us,” said co-owner of Sugar and Salt, Mary Shockley.

"This time of year is a little slower in retail, so we're really trying to get the traffic through the door and just physically have a fun experience for customers and other businesses,” said Cara Culbertson, store manager of Lou Lou.

Lou Lou Boutique is excited to pair with more local businesses for future Partnership Days.
