Louisa County man convicted of sexual assault, robbery

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A man from Louisa County has been convicted of sexually assaulting and robbing a University of Virginia student.

Jowell Legendre was convicted by a jury Friday afternoon.

He sexually assaulted and robbed a student near the intersection of 14th Street and Grady Avenue in September 2018.

Charlottesville Commonwealth's Attorney Joe Platania said Legendre was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
