ORANGE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Orange County Sheriff's Office says a man has been arrested on multiple charges, including rape and attempted murder.
According to a release, a woman went to the Orange County courthouse on May 13 to get help with a protective order violation.
An investigator helped her, and she reported a number of crimes were committed against her in the area of the 13000 block of Constitution Highway.
The woman named the person who allegedly assaulted her during the report, and the investigator later determined he had previously been charged with assault and battery and abduction on April 23, again in Orange County.
That suspect, 52-year-old Cruz Humberto Gallegos Grajeda, was released on bond on April 30.
The release says he has now been charged with rape, violating a protective order, attempted murder, burglary with the intent to commit a felony, and abduction.
Gallegos Grajeda is being held without bond at the Central Virginia Regional Jail.
