CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Anyone with an acute sports injury can stop by the sports walk-in clinic at Sentara Sports Medicine Center in the Outpatient Care Center at Pantops and get checked out.

"Any kind of athletic injury," said Dr. Matthew Panzarella, an orthopedic surgeon at Sentara Sports Medicine. "One of the reasons we offered this is to allow people to skip going to the emergency room and waiting in line for something that really doesn't need to be seen emergently. It may need to be seen urgently, so we are available to check you out first thing in the morning."

The walk-in clinic is open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. and peopl of all ages are guaranteed to be seen.

"If you're a weekend warrior or you participate in yoga or high school athletics, if you hurt something and it is a new injury, we would be happy to see you at our walk-in clinic," Panzarella said.
