CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- After months of renovation, the Mohr Center in downtown Charlottesville was unveiled on Monday.

The Mohr Center will be strictly for male substance abuse users.

The remodeling included adding four detox beds along with ten residential beds for those staying at the house.

Some types of treatment involved include family education and support, medication-assisted treatment, detoxification services among many others.

Marny Bentley, of Region Ten, says substance abuse continues to rise locally.

"We are seeing an increase in our community of individuals needing this level of care," she said. "It's nice to have it in our community so we can help them establish their recovery community for when they leave and transition back home."

A substance abuse center for women is planned to open in early June. That location will allow women to bring up to two children with them into the program.
