Orange County man facing drug charges after search of hotel room

ORANGE, Va. (NEWSPLEX) -- An Orange County resident is facing multiple drug-related charges after officials searched a room at a hotel in the town of Orange.

Thirty-four-year-old Kenneth Richardson is charged with possession with intent to distribute a schedule I/II drug, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a release, investigators at the Orange County Sheriff's Office got information regarding illegal drug use involving a person staying at the Comfort Inn on July 15.

Officials searched a room at the hotel with the help of the Orange Town Police Department.

Officers found Richardson occupying the room and also found suspected heroin, prescription narcotics, needles, marijuana, money, and other drug paraphernalia.

He is being held without bond at the Central Virginia Regional Jail.

The investigation is ongoing, and more charges are pending.
