Police identify teen hit and killed by train in Chesterfield County

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Chesterfield County Police Department has identified a teen who was hit and killed by a train on May 8.

According to police, 16-year-old Aaron Groome was hit by a train near Woods Edge Road around 2:15 p.m.

Police say he was walking south on the train tracks when he was hit by a southbound train.

According to the Louisa County Public Schools division, Groome was a student there from 2009 to December 2018.

However, it is unknown where he may have been living in the meantime.
