CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Charlottesville Police Department is investigating a weekend motorcycle crash that killed a city resident.
According to police, the crash occurred Sunday around 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of the Route 250 Bypass and Emmet Street.
Police say the motorcycle appears to have been heading north on Emmet and was trying to change lanes when the rider lost control and hit a Honda Pilot.
The rider identified as 33-year-old Mark Christopher Roark of Charlottesville was taken to the University of Virginia Health System where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Honda was not injured and is not currently facing any charges.
The police department is continuing to investigate this crash.
