CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Charlottesville Police Department is investigating a shots fired incident that occurred on Sixth Street SW early Sunday morning.

According to police, officers responded to a shots fired report on the 300 block of Sixth Street SW around 4:20 a.m.
Then they arrived, the officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound in the leg.
He was taken to the University of Virginia Health System for treatment, but he has since been released.
Police say the suspect ran away from the scene and is only described as a man wearing a black ski mask at the time.
However, police believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the general public.
