SWEET BRIAR, Va. (NEWSPLEX) -- Virginia Private College Week is coming up between July 24 and 29, and students who visit at least three participating institutions can get a little financial help when they apply.

Private colleges across Virginia are participating, including Sweet Briar College.

The annual open house is hosted by the members of the Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia as a way for prospective students and families to visit several schools in a coordinated trip.

According to a release, students who visit at least three participating institutions during Virginia Private College Week will be given three application fee waivers to any of them.

At Sweet Briar, prospective students will typically get a tour of the campus, an overview of the education available, and an informational session on admissions and financial aid.

Some of the other institutions that will be participating include Bridgewater College, Eastern Mennonite University, Randolph-Macon College, Ferrum College, and Mary Baldwin University.
