Settlement reached in Boyd Tinsley harassment lawsuit

SEATTLE (CBS19 NEWS) -- A lawsuit accusing former Dave Matthews Band violinist Boyd Tinsley of sexual harassment has been settled.

The suit was brought by James Winn, who claims he was discovered by Tinsley in 2007, then joined Tinsley's band, Crystal Garden.

It accused Tinsley of sending sexual text messages to Winn and asking for pictures for sexual purposes. Winn said Tinsley harassed him for months and said that Winn "owed him" for providing a lavish lifestyle.

In court records, Tinsley admitted that he met Winn in 2007 and that he was a member of the band, but Tinsley denied any harassment allegations.

On June 10, attorneys notified the court that a settlement has been reached. No details of the settlement were released.
