ORANGE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Small businesses from Greene, Orange, Louisa and Fluvanna counties will gather at the 4th annual Quad County Business Summit on Oct. 2.
The event will take place at Madison at the Mill in Orange.
It will bring businesses together for networking and educational programming.
The summit will have multiple speakers in attendance, including comedian Brett Leake who will be the keynote speaker.
It will also have a QuadTank Pitch competition where people can submit their own ideas for a business. The winner will receive money to start their own business.
The focus of the summit is to keep small businesses going in the rural counties.
"This event is really aimed at retention," said Phil Geer, the director of economic development for Orange County. "So helping the businesses that are here, helping them grow, helping them understand what it takes to be successful in these rural areas in which sometimes, there aren't many resources."
There is no deadline to register for the summit.
