ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- To celebrate the recent U.S. Women's World Cup team's 13-0 win over Thailand, the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA is trying to set a record of its own.

The goal is to have a record-setting weekend of adoptions for dogs.

Friday through Sunday, the adoption fee for adult dogs will be $13, though some exclusions may apply.

"We hope that anyone wanting to add an adult dog to their family will visit us this weekend," said Executive Director Angie Gunter. "Our team of adoption counselors are ready to give 110 percent to make sure you leave with a great dog."

Before adoption, each animal will be spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations.
