Two Greene County men arrested on drug charges

GREENE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Greene County Sheriff's Office says two county residents are facing drug charges.

According to a release, the sheriff's office's Street Crimes Unit and the Jefferson Area Drug Task Force arrested two men Tuesday night.

Twenty-eight-year-old Blaine Thomas Tawney is charged with felony conspiracy to distribute schedule I or II narcotics.

Thirty-two-year-old Jeffrey Scott Lawson is charged with two counts of felony distribution of schedule I or II narcotics, felony conspiracy to distribute schedule I or II narcotics, and possession of marijuana.

The release says these arrests are part of an ongoing investigation dealing with people distributing illegal narcotics in Greene County.

Tawney was released on an unsecure bond, and Lawson was held on a $6,000 secure bond at the Central Virginia Regional Jail.
