ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Two men from Alabama were arrested for multiple charges of drug possession following a criminal investigation conducted by the Jefferson Area Drug Enforcement Task Force.
Twenty-two-year-old Jonathan Lorenzo Ricks was arrested on three felony counts of drug possession, distribution of a drug while possessing a firearm, and importing more than one ounce of drugs into the state.
Twenty-two-year-old Maleek Qualls was arrested on one felony count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
The arrests were made in Albemarle County on Jan. 7, when the task force seized 790 grams of crystal meth, worth an estimated value of $79,000, and a 9-millimeter handgun.
Ricks and Qualls are being held at the Charlottesville-Albemarle Regional Jail.
This is still an ongoing investigation with additional charges pending.
