CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- David Caron was one of thousands of University of Virginia fans that made their way to Scott Stadium for UVA's National Championship celebration.
"It was nuts seeing that many people," said Caron.
He has also been on the road the last few weeks to see the Wahoos play, traveling to Columbia, South Carolina, Louisville and Minneapolis to support his team.
"It has been an incredible journey, it was always in the back of my mind that I would be able to attend these games and see them win like this," said Caron. "A lot of things had to come together in order for that to happen. First off, they had to win the games and everything was done by the seat of my pants but we made it happen."
He was also happy that the team was able to shine a positive spotlight on Charlottesville.
"I think it really puts a positive spotlight on the city," said Caron. "It's definitely something that I wanted to happen for many years and I'm so grateful that it has. Everyone is wearing Virginia colors left and right. They are willing to engage you on the streets. Probably the best story in college sports ever."
Caron is said he is optimistic that the Wahoos can win it again next year in Atlanta.
"If everything goes right, we'll see how it goes," said Caron.
